Shoulder Surgery at Brand Surgical Institute

Rotator Cuff Tear

The group of muscles and tendons that surround the shoulder joint is known as the rotator cuff. The rotator cuff’s job is to keep your upper arm bone firmly in place within the shoulder.

Diagnosis and Symptoms

The pain caused by a rotator cuff tear is usually described as a light to medium pain which start deep in the shoulder. It can disturb you while you sleep, especially when lying on the problem shoulder. Surgical and nonsurgical options are both available. Come in for a consultation and we’ll decide what the best path is for you.

Surgical Options

Surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff often  involves the tendon having to be reattached to the head of humerus (upper arm bone). A partial tear, may need only a trimming or smoothing procedure called a debridement. The surgery takes less than 1 hour, patients go home the same day and are in a sling for two to four weeks.

Dislocated Shoulder

Depending on the extent of the dislocated shoulder, surgery can be required to repair a torn labrum or tighten-up stretched or torn ligaments or tendons.

Surgical Options

At Brand Surgical, we use an arthroscopic technique which allows for only a very minor incision allowing for minimal damage to surrounding areas.

6 weeks after, you will have to go through about 3-6 months of physical therapy to help with regaining the muscle and restoring the range of motion.

Frozen Shoulder

Surgical & Other

Steroid injections - Corticosteroids are a good way to assist with pain relief and improve mobility in your shoulder.

Spine Surgery Glendale, CA

The spine is one of the most important and complex system in your body, it is the body's main support structure. The bones are divided into five regions: Cervical, Thoracic, Sacral, and Coccygeal. If your chronic back pain has not responded to nonsurgical treatments, you may benefit from minimally invasive spine surgery at Brand Surgical Institute.

Common Conditions that cause Back Pain

Herniated / Ruptured disks

A Herniated disc occurs when a fragment of the disc-nucleus is shoved out of the annulus, into the spinal canal. This is able to happen because of a tear or rupture in the annulus. We have great specialists at Brand Surgical to deal with this issue for you.

Spinal stenosis

Spinal stenosis is when the nerve roots and spinal cord in the small spinal canal become compressed. This leads to a “pinch” of the nerve roots and/or the spinal cord, which leads to numbness, weakness, cramping, or pain.

Most sciatica symtpoms (pain, numbness, weakness that spreads from the sciatic nerve down to the leg) result from lower back disorders such as a herniated disc that presses on a nerve root putting pressure and causing irritation to the sciatic nerve.

Pelvic X-Ray

Other Orthopedic Surgeries

Achilles Tendon Rupture

Simple procedure where the torn tendons are stitched together through a small incision on the back of the lower leg.

Carpal Tunnel Surgery

If medication doesn't work, physical therapy might be a good option. However, you must be committed and willing to put in the work.

Done by creating 2 small incisions and sending in an endoscope (super small camera), along with a special knife tool. The tool is used to detach the transverse carpal ligament. The goal is to relieve pressure on the median nerve.
