Gayle also mentioned that today, February 6th, 2007, Basketball Star and now
Jazz star Wayman Tisdale is undergoing surgery today to take off some
weight...100 pounds!

In 1985,Wayman Tisdale was on top of the world. At 6'9'' and 265lbs, Tisdale
was drafted #2 to play for the Indiana Pacers in the NBA. For 12 years
Tisdale was a dominating forward for popular teams such as the Sacramento
Kings and the Phoenix Suns. He even played a role helping the US earn the
1984 Gold Medal at the Olympics.

Now, 22 years later, after retiring from the NBA, Tisdale slowly packed on
an extra 100lbs and now is severely overweight at 365lbs. Tuesday, February
6, 2007 at the West Hills Hospital, Wayman Tisdale is undergoing the
LAP-BAND procedure. The LAP-BAND procedure is the least invasive and only
reversible surgical weight-loss option available in the US today. It uses a
hollow band that divides the stomach into two pouches that limits the amount
of food that a patient can eat at any one time.

The hospital says the procedure gives faster results than that of gastric
bypass, is safer and reversible.

Here is info on Wayman's Surgery:
Wayman is now 365 lbs, 100 lbs over weight.
